DIVE COZUMEL’S REEFS

Careyitos Advanced Divers

Come on down to Cozumel for the best drift diving experience on the island. We depart from the Marina Caleta at 9:00 am getting in the water for the first dive around 10:00 am. On our dives we avoid other dive groups and concentrate on the pristine areas. We will take you to some of the magnificent wonders of Cozumel National Park and seldom traveled reefs. Our dive program is computer based and allows the divers to manage their air consumption up to 75 minutes, including a 3 minute safety stop on a buoy line at 15 feet.

Deep blossom beauty

Our boat will be there to pick up divers as they finish their dive. The first dive is the deepest. After 90 minutes surface interval at a quiet beach where a delicious fresh mexican lunch buffet style is served, we will be heading to the second dive site, a shallower dive, again for 75 minutes. We return to the dock mid afternoon. Dive masters are there to assist as needed, find and point out turtles, nurse sharks, eagle rays, splendid toadfish and other elusive creatures.

Improving your diving

We are glad to help you improve buoyancy and air consumption, and to make sure you safely ascend to the surface at the end of your dive. Usually there is a dive master in the front of the group, one in the middle and one at the end. We are safety conscious but try to be unobtrusive. Divers are expected to be responsible for their own actions and dive profiles.

Ecofriendly disposition

Since 1982 Careyitos Dive Team has always been committed to Cozumel's coral reefs and its marine life, taking action and participating in conservation efforts long before designated a National Marine Park. The team’s proactive and service oriented attitude makes for a comfortable dive experience on the boat and underwater.

Rocking the boat

The boat is anchored AT THE NEW MARINA COZUMEL, IT IS LOCATED 5 km south of town. Local taxi is the best way to get there. Our storage place is conveniently located at the LEFT SIDE of the marina entrance AND IS THE FIRST ONE SHOP.

Scuba diving

Who should take this course?

The PADI Scuba Diver Course. If you’re short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you, particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily with a dive guide. This course is an intermediate step for earning an Open Water Diver certification, if that’s your ultimate goal. Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet. Obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba equipment and participate in dive activities as long as properly supervised.

Mastering your dive

Continue dive training by completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification and taking certain specialty diver courses. To enroll in a PADI Scuba Diver Course (or Junior Scuba Diver Course) you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required, but you can try it first through the Discover Scuba Diving Program.

From an astronaut to a treasure hunter

Have you ever dreamed of floating weightlessly like an astronaut, investigating unusual species like a field researcher, or looking for lost objects like a treasure hunter? Whether your goal in diving is fish watching, ocean conservation or simply meeting adventurous people, seventy percent of the globe becomes accessible to you the moment you learn to breathe underwater!
